Eucalyptus Summer Scentsation™
A small tree
(4-6m high x 3-4 m wide), clean trunked, with glossy
grey-green leaves and a dense canopy, covered in large
clusters of bright yellow flowers from December to March.
The blossom is
nectar rich and highly perfumed, and is a beacon to all nectar
feeders, including brush-tongued lorikeets.
It thrives in a wide range of climates from cool temperate to sub tropical and arid. Full sun is
preferred for maximum flowering, though light shade is tolerated; and it will grow in well drained
clay loam or sandy soils, neutral to acid or slightly alkaline. Well suited to coastal conditions,
and tolerant of moderate frost.
Uses: perfect for street planting, is suitable for small and medium sized gardens, and may be
grouped for eye-catching effect in broad landscapes.

Maintenance: requires little or no shaping, but will respond to light pruning if necessary. Feed in
early spring or late summer with low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer, and do not over water.
What a pleasure to see such a perfect example of streetscape
planting. Everyone wins ~ the honeyeaters and
lorikeets, the suburban environment and the
residents of the area.
