Eucalyptus
Little
Spotty™
A
small slender tree (5 - 7m tall) with a smooth waxy trunk
spotted with cream or orange-red patches, and a graceful canopy
of fine grey-green foliage. Masses of creamy nectar rich flowers bloom from winter to summer, very
attractive to honeyeaters, butterflies and other nectar-seeking fauna.
Will thrive in
cool temperate to semi arid climates, in both inland
and near-coastal regions. Very drought hardy and tolerates heavy
frosts. Prefers an open sunny position or light shade; soils
may be sandy, clay loam or stony, neutral to slightly acid pH.
A
little light changes all
Uses: May be planted singly or in copse groupings,
ideal for
small gardens, hardy and reliable in parklands, streetscapes. The slender trunks provide a
note of simple beauty and grace in any landscape.

Maintenance:
water occasionally (but deeply) until established, thereafter will take care
of itself. May be fed with controlled release low phosphorus fertilizer in early spring or late
summer if necessary.

The creamy blossom of Little Spotty is so strongly perfumed
you would grow it for that alone. Just ask any honeyeater.

But
the sensuously smooth white trunks would be another reason.
Put them together, however, and surely this must be one
of the most delightful small eucalypts to grace any landscape.
