Pretty Polly™
A medium
shrub (1.2 - 1.5m x 1.5 - 1.8m ) with a soft, semi weeping
habit and light green foliage. Three colour forms are
available: coral, citron and crimson.
Flowering for most of the year, the blooms are loosely
arranged along the stems and attract a wide range of
honeyeaters. Hardy in a range of climates, from cool temperate
to sub tropical, and semi arid with additional water. Thrives
in either full sun or light shade, in moist clay or sandy
loams, neutral to slightly acid pH. Frost tolerant, suitable
for near-coastal or inland regions.
Uses: excellent low hedging, especially with mixed
colour forms; specimen or group planting for outstanding bird
habitat; transitional planting on drier margins of ferneries
and rainforest plantings.
Maintenance: requires only light trimming for shape,
after flowering is finished. Feed with low phosphorus
controlled release fertilizer in early spring or late summer.
