Grevillea Quick Silver™
A dwarf lightly suckering plant (20-30cm high x 40-70cm wide), with
fine silver-grey foliage. Clusters of nectar-rich pink-and-white flowers follow the cherry-coloured
buds in winter and spring, flowering into early summer. A range of honey-eating birds will
constantly feed on this delightful small plant. Watching honeyeaters feed on container plants is one
of nature’s gifts to us.
It grows well in full sun or light shade, in cool temperate to sub tropical and semi arid climates,
and suits moist well drained clay or sandy loams, neutral to slightly acid or mildly alkaline pH.
Will grow in second line coastal situations, and is very frost hardy.
Uses: may be planted to soften path edges, or as a lightly suckering undershrub. It performs
beautifully as a soft dense cascading specimen in a container for patio or balcony, and honeyeaters
will readily find its flowers in such situations.
Maintenance: Trim ends of stems lightly after flowering to initiate new growth, feed in early spring
or late summer with low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer. If planted in containers, use best
quality potting mix and do not over water.
