Grevillea
Tucker Time® New Vintage™
Known as
the ‘Grape Grevillea’ for its large showy bunches of red and
orange flowers, this selection is a prostrate, densely
spreading plant (20cm H x 1.5 - 2m W). Foliage is also dense,
deeply lobed and very attractive as a backdrop to the flowers,
which begin as eye-catching buds that burst into bloom
throughout the year, the prime time being spring to summer. It
grows best in full sun, favouring very dry to lightly moist or
well drained soils, and is suitable for cool temperate to semi
arid and sub tropical climates. It is frost tolerant, and will
grow in second line coastal conditions.
Uses: spectacular as a dense spreading groundcover for
sloping garden beds, and as a grafted standard specimen. Plant
in sturdy container such as a terracotta pipe for an
outstanding container specimen, or group in architectural
clusters for greater impact.
Maintenance: feed in early spring or late summer with
low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer. Pruning of stem
ends will control spread, promote new growth and stimulate
even more flowering. If container grown, use best quality
potting medium and keep moist but not wet.
