Callistemon Silver Cloud™
A dense shrub
(1.8m x 1.5m) with striking silver-grey foliage and
plum-coloured new growth.
Masses of
perfumed creamy yellow flowers perch all over the foliage in
spring to early summer, beckoning honeyeaters and other small
birds to feed on the nectar-rich brushes. Hardy in temperate
to sub tropical and semi arid climates, in moist to seasonally
wet clay, sandy loams or even drier conditions (with
supplementary water), neutral to acid pH. Prefers full sun or
light shade, withstands heavy frost, and is suitable for
coastal and inland gardens.
Uses: A lovely small specimen for narrow screening or hedging; plant in multiples as a
background or edging for water areas. Also a pretty cut flower.
Maintenance: Clip regularly for hedging. Prune lightly for shape after flowering, and to
promote dense new growth. Feed in early spring or late summer with controlled release, low
phosphorus fertilizer.
