Walling® Scarlet Willow™
Soft and graceful, the
weeping foliage bears masses of large scarlet blooms in spring, and again in autumn ~ double the
seasonal feast for honeyeating birds and butterflies.
A
‘weeping willow’ with no bad habits

A graceful soft-foliaged large shrub (2.5-3m x 2m) with pinky-tan new growth and large scarlet
brushes in spring/summer and autumn, attractive to honeyeaters and butterflies. Suitable for cool
temperate to tropical climates, or drier regions with regular water. Thrives in full sun or light
shade in moist clay or sandy loams, neutral to acid pH. Frost hardy and suited to
second line coastal
gardens.
Uses: a colourful shapely specimen or street tree, ideal for group planting in larger
sites beside water features and for soft graceful screening.
Maintenance: trim spent flowers immediately to encourage repeat flowering. Shape plant
to suit site requirements. Feed in early spring or late summer with controlled release, low
phosphorus fertilizer. Low water needs when established, although will also do well in wet or soggy
situations.
