Callistemon Firebrand™
An
extremely versatile bottlebrush with a triple A hardiness
rating!
Flora for
Fauna at its best
A low spreading
bottlebrush, dense and fast
growing, 50 - 80cm high x 2 - 3 metres wide. Brilliant
scarlet brushes entice honeyeaters throughout spring to
autumn; additional flowering is encouraged with regular
pruning of spent flowers. It thrives in full sun or
light shade, in temperate to sub tropical or (with
additional water) semi arid climates. Hardy and
reliable, it is ideal for wet or well drained clay or sandy
soils, neutral to acid pH. It is equally at home in
coastal or inland gardens, and is frost tolerant.

Uses: especially appropriate for broad open
areas, large rockeries and steep banks, median strips and
for municipal plantings. It looks stunning when
planted with its 'twin', the yellow-flowering bottlebrush
Candle Glow, and can be used as a low hedge for
screening or pathway definition in broad landscapes.
Maintenance:
Use secateurs to remove spent
flowers, and prune foliage regularly to retain a low dense habit.
Feed in
early spring and late summer with low phosphorus controlled release
fertilizer.
