Callistemon Candle
Glow™
The lemon-flowered ‘twin’ to
Firebrand, a stunning and beautiful contrast when
both are planted together.
A low
arching shrub (60 - 90cm x 2 - 3.5m) with elegant silvery
new growth on the grey foliage. It bears perfumed, bright lemon brushes in
spring, summer and autumn, highly attractive to honeyeaters,
and to small insect-feeding birds such as wrens and
thornbills. Moist well drained soils of neutral to
acid pH are preferred, in full sun or light shade,
and it is hardy in temperate to sub tropical climates, or
semi arid with additional water. It withstands heavy
frost and is suitable for both coastal and inland gardens.
Uses: Ideal for banks, open garden beds, median strips and broad landscape design
where it performs reliably and always looks attractive. A
lovely cut flower, lasting for several days in water.
Maintenance: prune hard for shape after flowering and to promote dense new growth. Feed in early spring or late summer with low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer.
A beautiful dense groundcover or low
shrub; prune spent flowers to promote even better quantities of perfumed flowers. More Flora for
Fauna.. for you and the birds.
