Scaevola Edna Walling Fan Tastic™
A lush green carpeting plant (10cm high x 1.5m wide) which lightly
layers into the soil. Mauve fan flowers cover the foliage in spring, summer and autumn, and are
particularly attractive to butterflies.
It grows well in full sun or light shade, in cool temperate to sub tropical climates, and prefers
moist well drained clay loam or sandy soils; neutral to slightly acid or alkaline pH. Will grow in
near coastal sites, and is frost hardy.
Uses: Invaluable as a ‘natural mulch’ under other shrubs; plant along path edges, and across paving
or gravelled areas to soften the hard surfaces. As a container plant, it is hardy and attractive and
easily grown, either in a pot on its own or combined with other small plants to create a pot
picture.
Maintenance: responds well to pruning if it spreads further than desired. Feed in early spring or
late summer with low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer. If container grown, use best quality
potting medium and do not over water.
