Pandorea
Wonga Gold™
A climber
of medium vigour with glossy pinnate leaves, and bunches of
tubular golden flowers flushed with purple-bronze in spring
and early summer. It is splendid for screening unsightly
walls, and beautifies pergolas and verandahs with lush dark
foliage and masses of flower, frequently attracting
nectar-seeking Eastern Spinebills. Thrives in cool temperate
to tropical climates, in full or filtered sun. Suitable for
moist well drained clay or sandy loams, neutral to acid pH.
Tolerates light frosts and may be planted in second-line
coastal gardens.
Uses: Plant at 2 metre centres for quick cover; a light
wire mesh support may be necessary. The vivid flowering
exhibition is an outstanding feature of this selection, and an
even more spectacular picture is created when combined with a
climber such as
Edna Walling Wild Wisteria (Hardenbergia
comptoniana selection).

Maintenance: Prune regularly to maintain shape and to
promote fresh growth. An occasional hard pruning after
flowering is beneficial. Feed in early spring or late summer
with controlled release fertilizer suitable for native plants.
