Hardenbergia Happy Duo™ PBR

This vigorous climber or trailing combination looks sensational as a pot plant on a patio or balcony. Thriving in temperate to hot dry climates, it produces stunning purple and lavender-suffused white flowers from late autumn to spring. It loves full sun or light shade, tolerates light to moderate frosts and is well suited to second line coastal gardens.

Though Hardenbergias are not specifically noted as producers of nectar, it is very common to see Spinebills feeding amongst the flowers, clearly demonstrating their ability to find nectar in unusual places.

In ground: plant at 1.5 metre centres for quick cover over fences, in dry or moist, well drained clay loam or sandy soils, neutral to acid pH.

In containers: use best quality potting mix. Do not over water.

Maintenance: prune regularly to maintain shape and to initiate new growth. Prune hard after flowering. Feed with low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer in spring or late summer.
