Hardenbergia
Edna Walling® Wild Wisteria™
A
climbing or trailing plant of medium vigour with bright
green trifoliate leaves; ideal for quick screening of fences
and walls. Long sprays of vivid purple, wisteria-perfumed pea flowers from
mid-spring to early
summer provide a beautiful tracery along verandas and pergolas,
or beneath shrubs as an eye-catching groundcover. Its
dense foliage provides excellent nesting habitat especially
for Scrub Wrens.

It loves full sun or light
shade, and thrives in cool temperate to sub tropical climates;
it does best in moist well drained clay loams or sandy
soils, neutral to acid pH. It will tolerate mild
frosts and is suitable for both coastal and inland gardens.
Uses: Plant at 1 metre centres for
quick cover or screening. Grown in a
container, it makes a stunning display for a balcony or deck,
or it may be trained up posts or walls in courtyards for
brilliant effect. Combined with
Wonga Gold, a
beautiful combination is achieved.
Maintenance:
keep trimmed during year as necessary, prune after flowering.
Train growth early if lateral screening is required. Feed with
low phosphorus controlled release fertilizer in late summer
or early spring. For containers, use best quality
free-draining potting medium; keep moist but not wet.
