Tecomanthe
Edna
Walling® Island Belle™
A
climber of moderate density and vigour, with glossy pinnate
foliage, and spectacular clusters of large waxy pink bells
from spring through summer, pollinated by native bees,
moths and insects, and honeyeaters.
An exotic and decorative plant suited to both temperate
and tropical climates, in moist clay loams or sandy soils,
neutral to acid pH. It thrives in light or deep shade and becomes more compact
in a sunny position. Tolerates mild frosts, and is
suitable for second line coastal planting.

Uses: Performs beautifully as an elegant courtyard
plant, on a wall or pergola, fence or veranda or in a
container. If grown in a suitable pot, it can be brought
inside when in flower.
Maintenance: may be trained as
a climber, or allowed to drape gracefully, and requires
only occasional trimming. Feed lightly in early spring with
low phosphorus fertilizer.
If grown in containers, use only a quality low phosphorus
growing mix. Keep moist but do not over water.
